Frequently Asked Questions
At what age should I bring children in to see the orthodontist?
The American Association of Orthodontists recommends that all children 7 and older go to the Orthodontist for an exam. The purpose is to screen for any problems early and prevent more serious problems down the road. In addition, a Dentist may recommend an exam or have concerns at any time. If you are told by your Dentist, or if you have any questions or concerns, then come see us.

What is Invisalign?
Invisalign is the most aesthetic treatment for crooked teeth. It utilizes digital set ups of the teeth and software predictions for tooth movements. It is a series of trays that you change every week, and each tray has a unique shape and moves the teeth a small amount. Over time, the trays straighten and align the teeth. The trays are removable, are not worn while eating, and must be worn all day and night to work effectively.

What are the benefits of straight teeth?
Your smile is the second most observed feature of your face. If you feel confident about your smile, you will show it more often. Many patients report more confidence and self assurance after getting their teeth straightened. In addition to aesthetics, straight teeth are easier to clean and care for. Also, bite problems often wear the teeth over time and flatten or chip the teeth. Aligning the teeth prevents uneven wear and chipping or cracking of the teeth.
